"Oh...we can do that."

In our industry, these are famous last words uttered by many contractors, electricians or "expert friends" regarding their ability to complete home automation projects such as:

1) Giving you the capability to view your front door camera from your iPad or any TV in the house.

2) Giving you one-touch control of your home theater.

3) Turning on your lights when you get home from the safety of your car with a dedicated Lutron lighting system.

4) Adjusting the temperature in your home from your iPad, computer or even from the office.

Why do we call these "famous last words"? It's because we have talked to countless clients that have had nightmares with other companies regarding home automation projects and smart home installations. The problem typically involves two things:

1) The amount of training that this field requires (see below).

2) Businesses that don't specifically do audio, video and home automation but say they do. These typically include contractors, electricians, plumbers and others.

At Aire Theater Designs, we understand training. Three members of our team will complete 72 hours of training this week on just ONE BRAND of our home automation line-up (Elan g!). We are sending another member of our staff to 20 hours of training next week on get master certification of another new offering (URC's Total Control Line). This ongoing learning ensures that we know our stuff and that we won't be giving you any famous last words.

Would you go to a dentist to get brain surgery? Of course not! Following this logic, it makes sense to go to a specialist when you are looking to enjoy movies, music and today's home automation or smart home technology in your home. If you're looking for plumbing help or need a fence built, don't call us. However, if you want to enhance your life through music, video and technology, give us a call and let us show you what's available today.
