San Diego media room | Build your own

San Diego media room

We were talking to our lead installer Robyn the other day and he mentioned that he loved his projector and movie screen at home and that he thinks everyone should have one. We then told him, "Ok then...build a theater package that our clients would enjoy that is affordable." After he realized that he accidently gave himself a bunch of work to do, he eagerly put together a special package that includes:

  • Mitsubishi high-definition 1080p home theater projector
  • 92" manual pull-down projector screen
  • Polk Audio tower speaker pair
  • Pioneer home theater audio/video receiver w/6 HDMI inputs
  • Earthquake 8", 150 watt powered subwoofer

This is a great package for gamers or someone that wants to build a fantastic system on a budget. The regular price for this combination is $2782.00. Thanks to Robyn and his efforts of beating up our buyers for great pricing, this package is now priced at $2499.99 until 12/31/2012 or until the packages are gone.

Want to measure your TV in feet instead of inches? Call us today and let us turn your place into a movie theater for the holidays.

20 years ago, TV and stereo maintenance was easy. It consisted of buying the equipment, dusting it every so often and about 15 years later you would occasionally whack the TV on the side to make it work. Today's systems are a different animal. If you don't do regular maintenance on your new audio/video system you may end up looking like our friend above. Don't get frustrated...read on!

Do you know how to perform the following on your modern televisions, Blu-Ray players, RF brains and networked equipment?

1) Power resets

2) Firmware updates

3) Proper emitter placement

4) Resolution and audio optimization

5) Relocation of gear due to RF interference

6) Cloud storage

Most people don't as today's audio/video and home automation has become complicated and specialized. Unfortunately, the above elements along with other items need to be performed regularly to ensure that your stereo, flat screen TV and related systems operate smoothly and reliably. This is where we come in.

At Aire Theater Designs, we recommend an audio/video tune-up once a year. This service will ensure that you and your family enjoy your investment and get all of the performance you paid for. Our clients Karen and Marie that scheduled tune-ups last week can attest to this. Karen writes, "Well I must say the system is working great now! Thank you so much!" Here's how we can help you.

Our in-home tune-ups only cost $99.00 and typically can be scheduled the same week that you call us. Want to feel like Karen instead of our angry friend pictured above? Call us and let us show you how San Diego's leaders in audio, video and home automation can make your life a little easier.

Why is the robot above worried? He is concerned because he knows that BIG TV inventory from Sony and Samsung is getting very low. It is the time of year where the "old" sets are going away and we will be waiting for the new televisions to arrive. The problem with this is if you are planning on getting a set shortly, you may have to wait up until AUGUST to get certain TVs!

Moral of the story: If you have a project in the works that calls for a larger set or are planning construction/cabinets around a new TV, lock the TV down NOW to ensure that there aren't any delays on your project. We have been told that the new smaller sets have an ETA of late March/early April and that the larger sets have no ETA but may conceivably arrive in August.

We have some great deals on the remaining sets. Questions about what Sony and Samsung high-definition TVs are still in stock in San Diego? Call your Aire Theater Designs project manager today to see how we can help.

"Once upon a time, a company named Pioneer made a TV. And this TV was good...VERY GOOD. In fact, it was the best TV in the land. It resided as the king of TVs for years and years until the evil economy came and slayed the king..."

Actually the story isn't exactly like the above nursery rhyme. Pioneer made a plasma TV for years branded under their "Elite" line. It was hands-down the best TV on the market when it came to black levels, color accuracy and motion-processing. Unfortunately, changes in the economy and the bankruptcy of 2 major businesses that sold the TV (Good Guys & Tweeter) caused Pioneer to pull the plug on this Rolls Royce of TVs. However, after years of being without Elite TVs, we have a surprise.

Elite is back! This partnership between Sharp and Pioneer has brought the Elite line back to us. The two new offerings are 60" (PRO60X5) and 70" (PRO70X5) LED TVs. After looking them over at an introductory event, we feel that they offer the best picture in an LED set today. Here's a review courtesy of CNet:

These beauties aren't cheap, but the best never is. If you're interested in hearing what Elite has to offer after all these years, give us a yell and we'd be glad to give you the scoop!

Sonus

Super Bowl pricing is here again and the pricing is so good that even this guy is calling it crazy. Our latest vendor to get wacky is Samsung. We literally can't give numbers due to Samsung's pricing policy but if you order your TV prior to the big game you will save up to $1300.00 off Samsung's list, depending on model and availability.

UPDATE:
In addition to the above ballyhoo, certain Samsung TVs also come with a FREE 3D Blu-ray player, two sets of glasses and a 3D movie as long as they are purchased by January 28th. Want to have Super Bowl Central at your house? Give us a call!

Poindexter's Blog

"I am never going outside again...well maybe for SlugFest 2011 and ComicCon but that's it. I will not leave my Living Room after seeing my new Samsung LED. The Samsung UN46C8000 for those in the know. This TV is insane! The insanities include:

1) 8 MILLION to 1 contrast ratio: This makes for the best blacks and whites that I have ever seen on a TV.

2) 240 Hz refresh rate: This makes for fantastic motion-processing. "Life of the Ant Colony" and those thousands of appendages have never looked clearer.

3) 3D: There are differences in 3D from TV to TV. The 3D on this TV looks better than I saw in the theater and better than any other set I have seen.

4) Style: As you can tell by my get-up, I know fashion. This aluminum-bezeled, 1 inch thick beauty is AMAZING looking and would be my new sweetheart if it wasn't for my girlfriend in Canada that no one has ever seen.

CePro magazine just took my advice and rated this TV an Editor's pick for 2010. Check out the link: cepro.com/slideshow/image/7455

Questions about this Mona Lisa of the electronic world, give ATD a call and tell 'em Poindexter sent you."

P.S. POINDEXTER WASN'T IN TO MENTION THIS BUT ANY PURCHASE OF THIS SET COMES WITH A FREE 3D BLU-RAY PLAYER, 2 SETS OF GLASSES AND A FREE 3D MOVIE. GOOD UNTIL 1/31/2011. Let San Diego's Samsung dealer of choice show you what god TV is all about.

Tune Up Time!

We do maintenance for our cars, for our houses and for our bodies (hopefully). Here at ATD, we are now offering tune-ups for your audio/video systems.

Systems are in constant need of being updated. Factors such as cable box updates, pesky in-laws, setting changes and room additions can all influence how your system looks and sounds. For $99.00, we will have one of our audio/video "doctors" come to your home to optimize your set-up and to make sure that you are getting everything out of your investment that you can. While we're there, if you're curious about what's available these days in the electronic world...just ask. We'll let you know about the latest and greatest while dialing in your system so it looks and sounds like new.
