UniFi and Ubiquiti have the right tool for the job...kind of like this 1468 piece tool set
Ubiquiti WiFi San Diego Installation Solutions
You know what the best Wi-Fi is? The kind you never have to think about. If Wi-Fi has been on your mind lately, it’s usually for the wrong reasons—dead spots, slowdowns, or constant reconnecting. A properly designed UniFi system, installed and tuned the right way, turns the network back into what it should be: quiet, reliable, and simply there when you need it. What is this "Unifi" that we speak of? This is Ubiquiti's name for their ecosystem of networking products and management including WiFi access points, security gateways, switches, cameras (Protect), VoIP phones (Talk), and access control (Access). Why do we like UniFi in high-end homes?
UniFi gives us the right combination of performance, control, and long-term support without making your home feel like an IT project.
- Wi-Fi 6 performance, built for real device counts. UniFi access points support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and are designed to handle many connected devices at once.
- Better roaming and fewer “sticky” connections. UniFi access points support features like fast roaming (802.11r) and client transition management (802.11v), which helps devices move cleanly from one access point to the next.
- Control over how the Wi-Fi behaves. We can tune radios, steer capable devices to the best band, and manage channel behavior to reduce congestion and improve stability.
- A platform that supports long-term care. UniFi’s remote management tools let us monitor and support your system without unnecessary site visits, while keeping local control in the home.
How we build a UniFi Wi-Fi system
We keep this simple: correct placement, correct configuration, and verification after everything is installed.
1) Placement that matches the home: We plan access point locations for whole-home WiFi based on layout, construction materials, and how you actually use the space. UniFi Design Center lets us model placement and expected coverage before anything gets installed.
2) Clean installation, powered reliably: Most UniFi access points are powered via PoE (Power over Ethernet), which keeps installs clean and reduces the clutter of plug-in power supplies.
3) Configuration for stable day-to-day use: We configure SSIDs and security, then tune the wireless environment (channels, power levels, roaming features) to fit your device mix and the realities of the property. Features like band steering and radio/resource management help keep performance consistent over time.
4) Verify and fine-tune: After installation, we test and adjust. The goal is consistent performance where you live—conference calls, streaming, music, and control systems that don’t drop out when you move around the home.
Ongoing support
If you want the network to stay dependable, we can provide ongoing service: health checks, updates, troubleshooting, and remote assistance. UniFi Site Manager provides a centralized way to manage and support deployments remotely, and UniFi’s hybrid model is designed to keep local control while enabling remote access without licensing fees. NOTE: UniFi is a product that is best meant for professional application and installation. Kind of like the 1468 piece tool set above, you really need to be a pro to use Ubiquiti effectively. Fortunately, we happen to know a few WiFi professionals that can help you with this!
Why buy Unifi and Ubiquiti?
There are a whole lot of WiFi systems out there. We see a ton of Google Mesh, Eero, Luxul, Araknis, Orbi, Ruckus and more. Some of these are great...for example, we sell Eero and have probably 1000 units in the field. However, Ubiquiti and Unifi are advanced WiFi systems meant for specific applications. We'll go back to the 1468 piece tool set above. You might be a guy or gal that can use a 32 piece tool set and it meets all of your needs. If so, congratulations! However, many people need more and better tools. Unifi and Ubiquiti provide us with a more advanced "tool set" than the brands above to attack separate WiFi bands, spanning tree protocol, issues with signal strength, DHCP errors and more. This is one of the reasons that we chose to be a Ubiquiti retailer.
If you’re dealing with inconsistent whole-home Wi-Fi, planning a renovation, or building a home where reliability matters, we can design a Ubiquiti and UniFi solution that fits the property and stays easy to live with. Let our San Diego UniFi installation experts enhance your technology with great networking and WiFi!
